SCHOLARSHIPS AND OTHER
FUNDING SOURCES

  1. A+ SCHOLARSHIP: Tuition reimbursement for students graduating from an A+ school within the last two years and fulfilling all the requirements.
  2. Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program-Receive up to $2,500 to pursue career or technical education.  Applications opens February 15 through April 15 targeted for high school seniors planning to enroll in the Fall of 2022.  There will be another application period beginning June 15 for those not presently in high school.
  3. Institutional and Community  Grant Scholarships-based on eligibility and funding.
  4. Displaced Homemaker Award: Applications will be made available to eligible applicants once accepted.  
  5. WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA): Economically disadvantaged, dislocated worker, unemployed, or underemployed persons may qualify for this program. For more information, individuals should contact your nearest Missouri Job Center: 417-629-3000 in Joplin.

  7. VETERANS BENEFITS: Veterans and veterans’ dependents may receive VA financial assistance while completing an eligible program of study at Carthage Technical Center.
  8. Journey to College-$500 Book Scholarship​ -  Fall enrollment --New scholarship with three step process
  9. Scholarship Central-  Scholarships for Missouri Residents throughout the state.
  10. Scholarships for Women and Girls-Including scholarships for STEM, Teaching, Business, Medicine and more..
  11. AMERICAN OPPORTUNITY TAX CREDIT: Federal tax relief programs to help pay for education. Federal tax forms will contain explanations and instructions for claiming these tax benefits. 
  12. Live Your Dream-Soroptimist Scholarship (Women)- Application deadline November 15. Recommend applying before PN program begins.
  13. Live BEARDED- bi-annual $2,500 scholarship! This brand new scholarship is available to college students of all majors who record, at minimum, a 90 second video telling us a little about themselves, the school they are attending, their major, and why they deserve the Live Bearded Scholarship more than any of the other students applying for it.
  14. The Fudge Annual Scholarship: Deadline May 21st Annually. $2000
  15. Course Hero Scholarships: (Varying deadlines; varying amounts)-Course Hero is on a mission to help students by offering scholarships, study resources, and tutoring services.

  • Vocational Rehabilitation Programs- Individuals with disabilities that constitute a disability to employment may qualify for benefits such as tuition and fees, transportation and room and board if they qualify and meet the necessary financial guidelines. 
  • Facility Pay- Already working in the Healthcare Field?  Check with your employer to see if there are educational training benefits available.
