​How TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Students/Parents that have been  financially affected by COVID-19, can request Professional Judgement to make any needed financial  adjustment based on income decline, medical costs, etc. Documentation will be required. 
​HES Section 479A, 20 USC ~1087tt.


Most of the  financial aid you will be applying for require you to complete a free application for federal financial aid (FASFA).
  • ​​ 22-23 FASFA is Available now
  •  23-24 FASFAs available 10/1/2022
  • Create your FSA ID: after watching the above video
  • ​Send your FASFA to Carthage Technical Center:
  •  Federal School Code: 041522
  • Income Tax Information:      Complete the FAFSA utilizing your previous year’s income tax information if you are an independent student and also your parents’ income tax information if you are a dependent student.  If taxes were filed, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to complete the sections requiring your tax information.

​Some other important information about the financial aid process:
  • The Financial Aid Office may request that you submit additional information to finalize your application for financial aid, including copies of your Federal tax returns. Make sure any additional paperwork is submitted promptly.
  • Make sure to reference the Financial Aid Handbook on our website. It contains details and helpful information that could have an impact on your eligibility.

Additional Steps:
  1. Make sure you are admitted to Practical Nursing Program through Carthage Technical Center.
  2. Applications for the 2023 Program opens up May 1, 2022. and closes September 25, 2022
  3. Once you are admitted and have filed a FAFSA, the Financial Aid office will process your application and award you a package of financial aid that you are eligible to receive. We will send you a letter to notify you when your financial aid package is available for review in the Financial Aid office.​
